What a Weekend at Corrales Bay Resort Looks Like

What does a few days at Corrales Bay Resort actually look like?

Travel writer Kirsten Raccuia recently stayed with us and shared an in-depth review on Sand In My Curls. Her experience captured something we love about this place: you do not need a packed itinerary to have a memorable trip.

Swim. Eat. Explore. Read. Relax. Repeat.

For travelers looking for a weekend getaway from Puerto Vallarta, sometimes that is exactly what a vacation should be.

Start With the Water

The ocean tends to dictate the day at Corrales Bay.

Kirsten spent time snorkeling right off the property, where the rocky shoreline is home to colorful fish and clear water. Guests can also grab a kayak or paddleboard and explore the bay, head toward the nearby beach, or simply spend an afternoon around the oceanfront pool.

There is plenty to do, but there is no pressure to do any of it.

That balance is a big part of the Corrales Bay experience.

Leave Some Room for Doing Nothing

One of Kirsten’s observations in her full Corrales Bay Resort review was how easy it was to settle into a slower routine.

Read by the pool. Sit on your private deck. Take a massage overlooking the ocean. Play a game. Take a nap. Go for another swim.

Our 14 rooms and suites are designed around the setting, with outdoor spaces and views that make staying put feel pretty appealing.

There are no televisions in the rooms, but reliable Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. You can stay connected when you need to and disconnect when you don't.

Eat the Fish That Was Caught That Morning

Food was another highlight for her.

One meal in particular stood out: fresh fish zarandeado prepared after the fish was caught that morning, served alongside homemade tortillas, rice, salsa, and salad.

That is the kind of meal that just makes sense here.

Fresh seafood, Mexican flavors, good drinks, and nowhere you need to rush off to afterward.

Sometimes the biggest decision of the day really is what time you want to eat.

Get Outside and Explore

If sitting still is not your thing, there are plenty of ways to break up the relaxation.

Snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, beach exploration, ATV excursions, and other outdoor adventures are all part of the experience. Our Things to Know Before Your Stay page gives guests a better idea of what to expect and what activities are available.

An Easy Escape From Puerto Vallarta

Corrales Bay works especially well for travelers who want to add a few quieter days to a Puerto Vallarta trip or plan a standalone weekend getaway.

Guests fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport and can reach the resort by boat, land, or private plane. Our Getting to Corrales Bay Resort page breaks down each transportation option.

Once you arrive, there is really no reason to be anywhere else.

Kirsten summed up her stay with a routine we can get behind: swimming, eating, reading, and doing it all over again.

We loved having Sand In My Curls for a few days and sharing an honest look at the experience everyone can read about.

If your idea of a Mexico getaway involves more time in the water, more meals with a view, and fewer places you have to be, come spend a few days with us at Corrales Bay Resort.
